2025 NIPS (Training Days)

Northern Ski Team are offering on-mountain training opportunities for athletes on Saturday 21st & Sunday 24th August at WHAKAPAPA.

The coaching team will be lead by Nick Sheetz and Duane Barakat.

Key Details:

• Athlete training fees: $155.00 per day
• We have spaces for 12 athletes on Saturday (coached by Nick) and 24 athletes on Sunday (coached by Duane & Nick with the support of senior athletes)
• Approximate Schedule:
  • 8.30am: Meet at the Whakapapa Base Cafe
  • 9.00am: Upload the Gondola to the Knoll Ridge Cafe
  • 9.00am-11.00am: Morning training session
  • 11.00am-12.00pm: Lunch
  • 12.00pm-1.30pm: Afternoon training session
• The weather, snow and operational conditions will determine what training options are available to us. If there is the possibility to set a course, then this will absolutely be our preference, however there is no guarantee that this will be possible.
• On completion of registration, you will get an invitation from us to join our dedicated Heja group where we will share training updates.

Athlete Eligibility

• Registration for this training is for any athlete, where their school team includes at least one registered Northern Ski Team athlete (the individual athletes do not all need to be Northern Ski Team athletes)
