Families are welcome to book their own accommodation wherever suits them best\, however Northern Ski Team have a special arrangement with The Park in National Park whereby the team at The Park have been awesome in offering Northern Ski Team families a discount of 15% off their rack rates for room bookings through until the end of 2022 if you book with them directly (via email or phone).The facilities at The Park are great\, with an onsite restaurant & bar\, outdoor spas\, a common lounge area and some great room configurations.The Park Cancellation Policy: July 1 to October 31\, 2022 weekends (Friday and Saturday nights) – Cancelations or modifications must be made before midday on Monday for the following weekend for no fees to incur. Amendments will not be allowed after this time and if cancelled the full rate will be charged.Meals throughout the weekend.Transport to/from National Park and up/down Whakapapa.\n\n\n\nFAQs\n\n\n\nWhat is the refund policy? Assuming the weekend proceeds\, we have a strict ‘no refunds’ policy (including for bad weather days). This policy is due to the fixed-costs associated with running these weekendsIf the weekend does not proceed for any reason\, we will provide 100% refund on all payments made to Northern Ski Team.In the scenario of bad weather days\, we will run an alternative day of off-snow training and activities.   Are chaperone opportunities available? For this weekend\, we are able to chaperone 4 x athletes. Following prize-giving\, we will head back on-snow for some free-skiing together as time and conditions allow.Off-snow activities for bad weather days\, off-snow afternoons and evenings will be arranged for athletes and families.\n\n\n\nWhat’s Not Included:\n\n\n\nLift Passes for athletes. If you already have a 3 Peak Season Pass (because you joined us during the July Holiday Camp)\, this includes your lift passes for Mt Hutt. Mt Hutt lift passes for competitors (those aged 11 and older) are discounted to $39.50 for each of the race days. Children aged 7 and under ski for free at Mt Hutt.Interfield race entry for the race events. Athletes will be required to register and pay via the Snow Sports NZ website. Please ensure that athletes select Northern Ski Team as the training provider and club that they are representing.Return flights to Christchurch. Accommodation during the weekend.For those that joined us at Mt Hutt during July 2021\, you’ll be familiar with Barkers Lodge. Tony and the team have been awesome in agreeing to open up some of the rooms in the lodge for us\, which is amazing considering the lack of accommodation options in Methven.For those not so familiar\, most of the rooms sleep 4 x people and each room has it’s own ensuite. Including approximately 3-4 hours in a course set each morning (weather and conditions permitting)\, following by all mountain skiing in the afternoon.Off-snow activities for bad weather days\, off-snow afternoons and evenings will be arranged for athletes and families.  We have heaps of options up our sleeve for different scenarios\n\n\n\nWhat’s Not Included:\n\n\n\nMt Ruapehu Lift PassesFor anyone who does not yet have a Mt Ruapehu season pass\, the team at Mt Ruapehu have offered our members a great deal on Mt Ruapehu season passes.Unfortunately we are not permitted to put the info up on our website\, however please email us at theteam@northernskiteam.co.nz and we can let you know what the deal is and how to access it.Accommodation during the weekend. Families are welcome to book their own accommodation wherever suits them best\, however Northern Ski Team have a special arrangement with The Park in National Park whereby the team at The Park have been awesome in offering Northern Ski Team families a discount of 15% off their rack rates for room bookings through until the end of 2022 if you book with them directly (via email or phone).The facilities at The Park are great\, with an onsite restaurant & bar\, outdoor spas\, a common lounge area and some great room configurations.The Park Cancellation Policy: July 1 to October 31\, 2022 weekends (Friday and Saturday nights) – Cancelations or modifications must be made before midday on Monday for the following weekend for no fees to incur. Amendments will not be allowed after this time and if cancelled the full rate will be charged.Meals throughout the weekend.Transport to/from National Park and up/down Whakapapa.\n\n\n\nFAQs\n\n\n\nWhat is the refund policy? Assuming the weekend proceeds\, we have a strict ‘no refunds’ policy (including for bad weather days). This policy is due to the fixed-costs associated with running these weekendsIf the weekend does not proceed for any reason\, we will provide 100% refund on all payments made to Northern Ski Team.In the scenario of bad weather days\, we will run an alternative day of off-snow training and activities.   Are chaperone opportunities available? For this weekend\, we are able to chaperone 4 x athletes. However\, chaperone is by application only and the final decision is at the sole discretion of the NST executive committee.The chaperone cost for this weekend is $140 per night\, which includes:– Accommodation– Dinner and breakfast– Ground transport– Adult supervision throughout the campTo discuss chaperone options\, please email us at theteam@northernskiteam.co.nz and we will call you to discuss further.   What do I need to bring? Gear you NEED to bring:– Helmet and goggles– Slalom skis and/or GS skis. If the athlete only has 1 pair a kombi or slalom ski is best– Poles. GS poles are not required but slalom pole guards should be removed for GS training days– Properly fitting ski boots. If they are bugging athletes before we go\, get them sorted– Training suit and shortsOPTIONAL gear:– Chin guard (optional). Chin Guards should be removed for GS training– Arm Guards (optional – soccer shin guards work well)– Tuning equipment– Rugby style mouth guard (optional)– Snow boots (optional)In the ATHLETE DAY PACK:Athletes should bring a small pack each day. This pack will be left top of course each day\, including: beanie\, spare gloves\, spare goggles\, water\, snack\, money\, sunscreen\, medicine (if required) and an extra top/jacket in case athlete gets cold
